You have been tasked with planning the annual Christmas party. Where do you start? What should be done first? The Christmas Party is an event that is anticipated all year long. We have included a few steps below that will have your event planned in no time.

Choose A Theme

Themes are very popular for a company Christmas Partys, and can add a fun element and everyone can lets there hair down for the night. Some themes set up how your guests dress or what the night’s activities may be. If you go with a 80s theme it would be focused around playing all the retro sing a long, or something with more activities involved like a Casino theme and hire in the services of a Mobile Casino company. There are plenty of popular Party Theme ideas so just choose what works best

Entertainment

A popular option is renting karaoke equipment. Make sure you ask the loudest or most outgoing guests to go first and the rest will follow. You could also hire a DJ or book a band for a few hours. Also growing in popularity is hooking up an IPOD with a set playlist just for the night.

Hire A Function Venue

  • For a small company, 25 or less, an outing to a restaurant or bar would be best suited. Consider going to a wine tasting or favorite nearby eatery.
  • A middle sized company, between 25 and 80, could hire a small venue such as a bar or function room.
  • For a larger company, over 80 guests, book an Event  or Convention Centre to hold the event.

Invitations & Guest List

A month’s notice is considered customary when asking your guests to RSVP. Be sure to keep in mind how many people will comfortably fit in the venue that you choose. If you have a theme in mind you could give your guests a preview of what it will be on the invitation.

Decorations

If the party is at a function venue be sure to ask if any decorations are included or if you can bring your own. Color coordinate napkins and table coverings if the venue offers or you are holding the party at home. A centerpiece for each table would also be a great way to pull the theme together. Red and green are the most recognized holiday colors but your theme should also tie in. A centerpiece idea would be to wrap small empty boxes to place in the middle of each table or stack brightly wrapped boxes around the food or dessert tables. Above all keep your décor in line with your theme. Click here for more Party Decoration Ideas

Christmas Party Activities

A smaller company might hold a secret Santa. Set a price limit of five or ten dollars and have everyone choose a name. Added fun would be to theme it such as a gift that can be worn on your head or neck or hands, and so on. A larger company might consider a grab bag of gifts. Set a price limit and guests can take one on the way out. Be sure to add a few so that everyone has one! Christmas crackers are also lots of fun and can be given out as favors. If your company is particularly into celebrating Christmas you may even get someone bold enough to dress up as Santa and hand out small favors or gifts.

That was certainly easy! Now all you have to do is send out those invitations and look forward to the party! Remember the simplest plans create the most enjoyable celebrations!
